Enjoy our Private Washington, D.C. Day Bike Tour!

Experience the Nation's Capital with our world-famous tours and service for your private group! While our standard D.C. Bike Tour is a fabulous way to see the National Mall and beyond, this privatized version is the perfect way to see the monuments exactly how you want to see them, and have a local, expert tour guide all to yourself.

Our guides are knowledgeable on a wide variety of topics and booking a private tour ensures that the content can be structured to suit your needs. Want to focus on the foundation of our country and the events that took place when D.C. was first created? Or maybe you're more interested in current events and how they unfold in modern day D.C? With decades of history, D.C. is brimming with thrilling stories, facts, and anecdotes that captivate the interest of all ages.

Your tour will meet at our office, located just 10 minutes from the National Mall where everyone will get fitted for a bike. With comfy 3-speed cruiser bikes available for the adults and numerous options for children and infants, there is an option for everyone. Enjoying the flat terrain of the city, we'll cruise over to the Mall starting off with the Lincoln Memorial, site of the famous Martin Luther King Jr. "I Have a Dream" speech, where you'll enjoy stunning views of the Washington Monument, the Reflecting Pool, and even a peek at the Capitol dome from far away. The National Mall is nearly 2 miles long and can take hours to cover on foot, but we'll cruise effortlessly from memorial to memorial without hardly breaking a sweat. We'll weave our way through the shaded paths stopping along the way to see the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, the U.S. Capitol Building, and even take a slight detour off the main mall to see the White House. We build in plenty of time for photo opportunities and the chance to pick your guide's brain on all things D.C, United States History, and more.

Join us and find out for yourself what has made us world-famous for over two decades!

FAQ

All bike tours begin at our office, located at 502 23rd Street NW, Washington, DC 20037, near the intersection of 23rd and E Streets in Columbia Plaza.

  • Expand/Collapse Is a helmet included? Do I have to wear a helmet?

Yes, helmets are provided and we require all riders to wear helmets on our tours. Your safety is top priority for us and studies have shown that helmets can reduce head injuries by at least 85%.

  • Expand/Collapse My group is larger than the dropdown number allows - how can I book?

This Off the Shelf Private D.C. Bike Tour is designed for groups of 8 people or less. If you have a larger group, please inquire about a Custom D.C. Private Bike Tour here.

  • Expand/Collapse Is this tour offered in any other languages, or only English?

All tours are available in English, and can sometimes be scheduled in other languages, given we have a tour guide available on your selected date who speaks the language of choice. Please let us know in the 'Comments' section at checkout if you would like to request a language other than English.

  • Expand/Collapse Is this tour appropriate for children?

Absolutely! We have tons of families as we're a great family activity. We have 4 options for children depending on their age, size, and riding ability:

    • For children under 18 months of age or 45lbs (20kg), we have baby seats that can be attached to the back of a bike.
    • For children children weighing up to 65lbs (30kg), we have trailers that can be left open or zipped up to fully enclose the passenger.
    • For children up to 12 years old or 100lbs (45kg), we have 2 wheeled tandem trailers. The passenger sits on a seat and can pedal or coast. All riders over 100lbs (45kg) must ride their own bicycle. We have various smaller sized mountain bikes for those able to ride on their own, and of course, our regular beach cruisers for children big enough to ride them.
    • Unfortunately, we do not have any adult tricycles or bikes with training wheels for adults that may be less confident in their riding ability. If possible, please let us know if you would like one of our tandems, trailers, baby seats, or child bikes in advance that you'd like to reserve either a child seat or trailer.
    • Please Note: All child bikes use hand brakes. There are no pedal brakes available.

Unfortunately, due to the risk to both child and mother, pregnant women are not allowed to participate on our bike tours.

Most of our tours ride in wide bike/pedestrian paths, but we do occasionally ride in the street depending on the tour.

We carefully designed each tour route with safety as the top priority. Whether on the street, bike lane, or pedestrian path, you always have a tour guide who is an expert and safely maneuvering your group around the city.

  • Expand/Collapse What is your weather policy?
